El Cajon as San Diego's Junk Drawer

"El Cajon" can be translated to mean "the drawer." This meaning is perfect to me, because I am annointing El Cajon as the region's unofficial "Junk Drawer." As a mom, I am no stranger to having a junk drawer myself. I may always hope to clean it out and get some swanky organizer to whip it into shape; but in the meantime, I love it and depend on it just the way it is. My junk drawer is where I find that perfect tool I need or quirky lost treasures I've long forgotten about. People may unfairly judge the contents as "junk" upon first glance, but they ought to give a second look. This is how I feel about my dear ol' El Cajon. Give it a chance and it just might grow on you, too!
